Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

DBT is a type of talk therapy that focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives, their emotions and their behaviors. It teaches and supports people in learning how to change their lives, by understanding and changing their behaviors. DBT helps people learn healthier ways to cope.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a mindful behavioral therapy that embraces a humanistic approach to assist individuals in accepting and overcoming negative experiences.

Unlike traditional psychology, which emphasizes achieving a healthy normality, ACT acknowledges so-called "abnormality" as inherent in the human psyche and prioritizes change through acceptance. It sees negative emotions and experiences as inevitable aspects of life, advocating that avoidance can lead to counterproductive behaviors.

Imago Relationship Therapy

Married, dating, roommates, friends, siblings, adult/parent…. we are all in relationship.

Relationship counseling helps you and your spouse/partner/friend/sibling/parent or adult child learn to listen to understand instead of listen to respond. You experience what it feels like to be heard!

You’ll know how to talk without yelling or shutting down. You will learn how to stop fighting about the same old stuff and actually resolve problems. You'll learn how to reconnect emotionally and bring back the love, the trust, and the joy you once had.

Plus, relationship counseling is not just for when things are falling apart, it can also be a tune-up for your relationship, so you can keep it running smoothly for the long haul.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapies, such as mindfulness practices or body-centered psychotherapy, work wonders for mental health because they get your body involved in the healing process.

Imagine this: when you're stressed, your body tenses up, right? Well, these therapies help release that tension, like a deep tissue massage easing away knots in your muscles. Plus, they teach you to pay attention to how your body feels, which is a game-changer.

It's like having a secret code to decode your emotions – you learn to notice when you're getting anxious or overwhelmed, and you can do something about it, like taking a few deep breaths or doing some gentle stretches. So, it's not just about feeling good physically; it's about feeling more in control of your emotions and mental well-being.

Child Parent Relational Therapy and Trust Based Relational Interventions

TBRI, or Trust-Based Relational Intervention, is a therapeutic approach developed to help children who have experienced trauma, particularly those in foster care or adoption.

TBRI focuses on building trust and strengthening relationships between caregivers and children through empowering, connecting, and correcting principles. It utilizes various techniques like sensory activities and play therapy to promote healing and resilience in children, while also providing support and training for caregivers.

Ultimately, TBRI aims to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can heal and thrive emotionally.

CPRT, or Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, is like a special journey for parents and kids to grow closer and understand each other better. It's all about learning together, with parents picking up new skills and tricks to connect with their children in a deeper, more meaningful way.

Through CPRT, families get to create those magical moments where they truly get each other, building a stronger bond that lasts a lifetime. It's not just therapy; it's a heartfelt adventure of love, understanding, and joy for the whole family.

Attachment Based Therapy

Attachment-based therapy is like finding your balance in the dance of relationships—a gentle, nurturing journey toward deeper understanding and connection. Picture sitting down with a compassionate guide who helps you navigate the ebbs and flows of your emotional landscape—the highs, the lows, and everything in between.

Together, we uncover the patterns that have shaped your relationships, creating a roadmap for healing and growth that brings balance back into your life. It's about finding peace in the present, building trust and love that feels steady and true.

If you're ready to take this journey toward balance, trust, and connection, we're here to walk beside you every step of the way.
